Are You Sick of Running the Organizing Marathon and Never Crossing the Finish Line?
It’s always a special treat when we get to help a client organize after they have completed a remodel. Having done several home remodels myself I know that the last few miles to the finish line can feel like the hardest.
One family we worked with was extremely busy…The wife had started a new Interior Design business that was taking off like wildfire, the husband was busy running his successful Real Estate business, and they were raising teenagers.
The kitchen, pantry and family room were the big push for this part of the remodel. They had been living without their kitchen for months and the finish line was finally in sight. But they realized they didn’t have the time or energy to move back in and do the organizing to the level that they wanted.
It was very important that the organizing systems were set up for their lifestyle. Since they had spent so much time customizing every detail into the design of their kitchen, getting the organizing done right was key. Everything needed a clearly designated home so that everyone in the household could help to maintain the systems we set up.
So we dove in!
Because the kitchen and pantry were large and spread out it was more important than ever to create zones within the spaces:
Baking was very important to their daughter, so we created a special baking zone for her to get creative in the kitchen.
We also created a food prep zone, which was key to them eating healthy with their busy lifestyle. The fridge got a simple makeover as well. The fridge had no storage in the doors, so we had to get creative with solutions to organize the condiments and small jars.
They were looking forward to entertaining again, so it was important to have a coffee and tea zone as well as a designated bar area to host friends again.
The pantry was a dream and had so much potential for organization and storage. All the large appliances were moved to the pantry to keep the kitchen counters clear, and food was decanted and stored by zone for easy grabbing on the go.
It was important to this client that systems and labels were customized, so we had fun playing with some new matte black labels.
We worked closely with Bliss Haus to create custom labels in our client’s font for the baking cabinet. They also helped us create spice labels to put on the beautiful black glass jars we sourced for the spice drawer.
Every single detail was discussed, reviewed, and tweaked to make the most beautifully organized kitchen for this family.
On one of the days we were installing the materials, the husband came in to say hi. He told me:
“I’m just so grateful that you’re here. My wife and I are not on the same page when it comes to where things should be placed in our new kitchen. I am just so glad to have a neutral party to help us make decisions. I love how it's set up… It just makes perfect sense. We are lucky to have your help.”
Helping this family cross the finish line was a big win for everyone! Now they can get back to cooking healthy meals together and spending quality time with friends and family in their beautiful new home!
Be well,

I would love to hear what organizing marathon you are currently running, and how can we help you cross that finish line?
